hold your own shoesday!
Take part in a Shoesday with your clasSMAtes to help raise money and awareness of SMA!
It's easy to do; pick a date, get everyone to wear odd shoes to school or work and donate to SMA Support UK. If you prefer, you could wear wacky shoes, crazy laces, odd socks, funky tights or even customise your shoes with decoration!
Every group that takes part will receive copies of our books Smasheroo, SMA Type 2 and Me and SMA Type 3 and Me for their library. These books are aimed specifically at children and explain more about Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and how it impacts those affected.
We will also be asking each group to send in Shoesday Selfies to be in with the chance of winning £100 voucher towards equipment from TTS (school supplies for primary, secondary and early years) and a bunch of SMA Support UK goodies! To enter the competition participating schools and groups must do the following by the end of September this year:
- Pay in the funds raised to SMA Support UK by BACS, cheque or through an online donation
- Email Shoesday photos to email@example.com
For inspiration, check out these photos of Avon House School who held their Shoesday in 2017, even running a donut sale after school too:
We really hope you'll be able to join in. For more information about holding a Shoesday, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01789 267 520.
